Air LaGuardia was founded in 1995, then commenced operations in early 1996, after Jolteon Airlines. Air LaGuardia was named after the airport in New York, where its main hub is at.

On September 11, 2001, an Air LaGuardia 767 was diverted to Boston, due to the attacks on the WTC, and the Pentagon.
On May 6, 2009, Air LaGuardia flight 268, an Airbus A321-200, collided into AflyA Airlines Flight 128, there was one survivor on the A321.
On January 2, 2013, after the 6/1 attacks, Air LaGuardia Flight 1228, a Fokker 100, ditched into the ocean and crashed along a small island, all passengers and crew members survived.
On February 23, 2015, Air LaGuardia Flight 6721, an Airbus A321-200, caught fire during its final approach to New York-LaGuardia Airport, only 2 of 103 passengers died.
On April 24, 2015, LaGuardia Shuttle Flight 582, operated by Shuttle America, a McDonnell Douglas MD-82, overran the runway at the Knoxville McGhee Tyson Airport, it later exploded, due to a fuel leak, and 12 of the 57 passengers and crew on board died while trying to escape.
On May 1, 2015, Air LaGuardia Flight 9021, an Embraer ERJ-195, subdued severe damage to engine 1, while landing on a windy day, at San Francisco, no one was harmed.
