JetBlue was one of the only airlines that made a profit following the 9/11 attacks.
JetBlue has expanded its flights and now uses Airbus A320s and Embraer 190s. The airline might be considering to become a member in a global airline alliance. Star Alliance seems to be the most likely choice because the airline is partially owned by Lufthansa.

Accidents and Incidents[]
On September 21, 2005, JetBlue flight 292, from Burbank-Bob Hope Airport to New York-John F. Kennedy Int'l Airport, made an emergency landing at Los Angeles Int'l Airport after the plane's nose landing gear was turned a bit. Upon making the emergency landing, the nose landing gear sparked out. This caused the tire to disintegrate. After large amounts of anxiety determining if the plane will overshoot the runway or not, the plane finally skidded to a stop on runway 25L. All 146 passengers and crew survived the accident. The tire ended up being split in half. The cause was a mechanical failure of the nose landing gear.
On March 27, 2012, the captain on JetBlue flight 191 was locked out of the cockpit and subdued by passengers following a panic attack. The plane made an emergency landing at Amarillo Airport.
